MOONBEAM — The Ontario government is investing $200,000 through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) to help the non-profit organization Le Club des As de Moonbeam modernize its community space to serve the needs of residents and visitors. This funding is part of the government’s plan to protect Ontario by making strategic investments to help communities build and revitalize important local infrastructure that make Northern Ontario a great place to work, live and raise a family.

“Having spaces to engage in social activity year-round is vital for healthy communities,” said George Pirie, Minister of Northern Economic Development and Growth. “Our government is proud to support Le Club des As de Moonbeam’s renovation project, allowing the club to continue providing excellent programming that supports community development.”

Le Club des As de Moonbeam is an important community organization that fosters social integration for people of all generations through its range of programming, such as shared meals and casual game tournaments. The club also promotes economic activity by attracting winter sports enthusiasts, including snowmobilers, snowshoers and cross-country skiers. The organization is using NOHFC funding to revitalize amenities and improve its facility’s safety and accessibility. These upgrades will also provide the opportunity for future expansion of the club’s services and operations.

“The $200,000 grant from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation meant the world to us,” said Patrick Boulianne, President of Le Club des As de Moonbeam. “It gave us the funding required to bring the renovation project to fruition. The trust that the NOHFC showed in our organization created the momentum for other sponsors and volunteers to hop on board. Thanks to unbridled enthusiasm among local businesses and individuals, Le Club des As de Moonbeam is proud to say that the clubhouse renovation has been completed beyond our wildest dreams. We hope everyone stops in to see our new space!”

The Ontario government is committed to prioritizing investments through the NOHFC that protect northern industries and jobs, mitigate the impacts of U.S. tariffs and trade disruptions and secure new opportunities for the long-term prosperity of Northern Ontario. The renewed focus is boosting competitiveness and ensuring the North remains a leader in Ontario’s economy. This new direction is in addition to the province’s recently announced investment of an additional $30 million over the next three years, bringing the NOHFC’s annual budget to a total of $110 million. Together, these initiatives will benefit communities of all sizes, both rural and urban, including Indigenous communities.
